As our cities grow and spread, the line between city, suburbs and outer suburbs begin to blur and it’s this feature which created our edgy interior theme of City Fringe for the Wembley 22 – Thorngate Façade.
The City Fringe theme begins with the exterior of this single story home where the combination of the striking dark brick adds some urban edge to the façade. This dark element is further added to the roof tiles and with the inclusion of a complimenting gutter and fascia, these deep tones extends the roof line, enhancing its presence in the overall feel of the home. Dark windows act like eye liner to create mood and blur the lines of the windows further, again harking back to that city fringe blur between suburb and city. The addition of a grey colour match to the rendered feature column as well as the vertical timber posts adds some soft contrast against the darker bricks, whilst highlighting the off-white mortar.
Rich charcoal tones with contrasting finishes creates the perfect colour palette for a relaxing master suite.
The ensuite and bathrooms have the contrast between rich charcoals and crisp white walls, softened by the warmth in the vanity used for its rich beautiful timber grain, adding some warmth to the otherwise cooler grey scheme and repeating the matt black in the tapware creates a stylish high end feel, without compromising the family warmth of this family home.
The theme of City Fringe was a great fit for this well considered home, adding great contrast and drama throughout with fixed finishes enhancing the homes attributes, and providing a great spring board for the geometric accents, walnut and terracotta finishes. The interior finishes continue the theme beginning with the rich charcoal porcelain tiled floors which flow throughout creating a great base for contrast in the styling, as well as the light internal walls. To add a further cool ‘City Fringe’, the use of matt black door hardware sits well against the horizontal lines of the front door.
Rich walnut timber tones are used, to add some drama in contrast to a bold tile in a stunning charcoal for the splashback which compliments the gloss benchtop. Forming an arrow, this dramatic effect which was mirrored on the opposite wall of the galley style, helps draw you in to this well-appointed kitchen towards the generous walk in pantry.
