There is something special about the natural earthy tones that we have here in Australia, they appear in our natural bush rock, our coastal and dessert sands. We live in a land rich with tribal history and in modern times many cultures from around the globe have joined us to call this their home, each coming with their own history and culture with stories that have been passed on for generations through tribal imagery. This was the inspiration behind creating the Natural Tribe theme for the NEWINGTON 22 MK2 – YORK FAÇADE. It highlights the use of natural earth tones as a backdrop creating a home that is both welcoming and calm, providing the perfect refuge for a growing family
The cabinetry in the kitchen not only adds some moody contrast with a very tactile finish, it also compliments the texture in the timber look tiles on the floor.
The fixed finishes throughout the home provide a tonal backdrop for the styling with the addition of patterns and motifs which have existed for centuries in a range of tribal cultures. These patterns mixed with a highly textural use of fabrics in sofas cushions and throws, add a layered effect in open weave and tactile materials which add a welcoming warmth throughout the home. The additional use of weathered timber pieces, woven handmade wicker and canes baskets as well as strong use of artwork, and accessories add a strong layer of pattern and geometric motifs further calling to the Natural tribal concept.

The neutral textural finish of weather tree trunks was the inspiration for the main floor which runs throughout the interior of the home, with a soft flow into the more sand inspired tiles in the wet areas, again in a very calming and earthy tone.
