It’s the centre of every home and the room that we use the most. Of course, I’m talking about the kitchen, and we’re going to talk today about how you can make the kitchen look exactly the way you want for your brand-new Eden Brae home. And it starts right here at Kitchen Culture.
The basic layout of your kitchen will be determined by the floor plan of the home that you’ve chosen to build. Working on that, your staff here will give you options to alter that design and change the configuration of the cupboards and doors to make the kitchen the way that you want it to be. The kitchen is manufactured with standard dimensions: the height of the bench top, the depth of the cupboards, and the height of the kitchen. Now, if you’ve chosen to raise the ceiling height of your home to 2.7 metres, then you can also upgrade the height of your kitchen from standard 2.1m to 2.4 metres, using that beautiful space and giving you extra storage all the way along the top.
The one surface that takes all of the hard wear and tear is the kitchen bench top, and Eden Brae includes three standard stones in their kitchen packages, which you might have in your tender. You’ll also be able to choose from a huge range of upgrade options, allowing you to get the look and feel that you’re after.
A great way to add a punch of colour in your kitchen is in the glass splashback. Now, there’s a standard range of colours available here as well, but you can up the ante and go for something really punchy, or tone it down with a nice neutral to get the look that you’re going for. There are endless possibilities available for your cabinetry finish in the world of laminates. There are high gloss and textured finishes as well, allowing you to play with the texture and feel in your kitchen. Another great upgrade option to personalise the look of your kitchen is to go for a panelled door in polyurethane. Now, the polyurethane finish comes in gloss, matte, or satin, and comes in all of the colours of the rainbow, allowing you to get a nice routered finish like this popular Hamptons look.
Your standard kitchen design will come with one set of drawers, but ultimately, adding extra drawers allows you to better use the space. Instead of climbing in and under the cupboard, you simply slide it out and access the things you need. You might choose to have no handles on your drawers and doors, or choose funky ones like these to add a punch of character.
And don’t forget about accessories. A pullout bin like this one gives you a place for rubbish and recycling. And remember, if you don’t upgrade and add a bin, you’re going to end up with one standalone in the middle of your kitchen.
As you can see, there are a lot of options to upgrade the kitchen in your home. This is the most important appointment in the whole of the selection process, so do your homework. Look at the kitchens in all of the display homes. Rip out those pages from the magazines, and bring pictures from Pinterest. The more homework you do, the better prepared you’ll be, enabling the designers to help you achieve the kitchen the way that you want it to look and feel, based on your house design and budget.
